My Background
I was born with business in my blood - belonging to a family with a roofing contractor business, I grew up 'in it'.
With over 35yrs in business - corporate, owning a bricks & mortar business and self employed - I have had loads of successes AND made every mistake in the book!
I started off the standard route - doing a Business degree, followed by working in IT for nearly 15yrs. The Corporate world was wonderful for giving me so much experience - I went from Consulting, to Training, to Project Mgmt & Software Engineering, to Support and then Post-sales.
Then 25yrs ago I retrained as a healer & coach, and a large part of what followed was learning everything that goes with being self-employed.
During that time I also opened a salon & spa - owning a bricks & mortar business is very tough imho, not for the faint hearted!
Becoming a mum was amazing, but adds to the work-life juggle struggle, especially when my daughter was diagnosed autistic & I developed a serious chronic health condition. I was married for 35yrs, five of which were trying to get a divorce - so I was also a single mum. The reality check of the fact that the body is not always willing & the energy is not always there to hustle & push through, became a big brick wall for me.
I might have a tonne of qualifications - but it is true that experience (especially the mistakes) has made me a thousand times better as a Business consultant - hard lessons learnt!
Journaling became my Godsend for reducing the stress & managing the juggle struggle - and so my digital 'Easy Journaling' journals & planners were created.
Eventually I realised that 'normal living' just wasn't going to work for me any more, & hence I came up with the concept of 'Gentle Living' (not slow - because I'm still too full of ideas for 'slow' LOL).
